# Assign charts to products

A product uses the first chart found in this order: **chosen on the product → child category → parent category → tag**.

### By category or tag

In the chart's **Applies to** box, choose categories and tags. Child categories inherit the chart of their parent.

### On one product

Open the product and choose the chart in its **Size chart** box (right column). A chart chosen here takes priority over charts assigned by category or tag. The box also shows which chart the product currently uses.

### Through a Product Profile

When POD Profile is on, a Product Profile can choose a chart for every product that uses it. See [Create a Product Profile](/docs/create-a-product-profile/).

### When several charts match

In **Settings → Size Chart → When a product matches several charts**, choose:

- **Use only the most specific chart** (product → child category → parent category → tag), or
- **Show every matching chart.**
